Scope:

VA South Texas Health Care sought clinical and operational patient care renovations for its existing hospital to keep up with patient needs and improve the facility. The project included renovation and expansion of the existing building, with spaces including a bone marrow transplant unit, hepatology, gastroenterology, PET scanners, operating and imaging equipment, mental health, rehabilitation, laboratories, pharmacy, administrative, and dining facilities. Our team designed security, water treatment, and essential power systems per the owner’s specifications across multiple projects, including isolation systems, laboratories, and central utility plant work. New power distribution, lighting, HVAC, communications, plumbing, controls, medical gases, and fire protection systems were designed, delivered as part of our team’s federal IDIQ contract covering seven VA medical centers. The project covered 820,000 square feet.
