Fort Worth Federal Correctional Institute Emergency Generator and Switchgear Replacement

Scope:

Space constraints, security, and construction phasing shaped the generator and switchgear replacement at the Fort Worth Federal Correctional Institute. The Fort Worth Federal Correctional Institute Emergency Generator and Switchgear Replacement system included automatic transfer between utility and generator power, a 1,500 gallon fuel tank, protective relays, metering, and remote touchscreen controls. Our team designed a 2,500 kW diesel generator and 15 kV emergency load management switchgear for the Fort Worth Federal Correctional Institute. The design addressed limited equipment space and security within the facility perimeter. Construction phasing limited interruptions to utility service during installation.
