Scope:

STEM teaching spaces gave the Colorado STEM Academy assignment its mechanical and electrical priorities. The Colorado STEM Academy project supported spaces for STEM instruction and research. Our team provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the STEM building for Adams County School District 50 in Colorado. Spaces considered in the design included laboratories, equipment rooms, preparation areas, and research support spaces. For mechanical systems, we considered laboratory supply and exhaust air, pressure relationships, and equipment heat loads. The electrical approach accounted for instrument power, laboratory lighting, and distribution coordinated with equipment layouts.
