Scope:

A 60 foot planetarium dome and 150 seat theater sat alongside classrooms and technology labs at Central Texas College’s Mayborn Science Theater project. Central Texas College Mayborn Science Theater included the Mayborn Science Theater, with a 60 foot dome and 150 seats, along with 18 classrooms, three videoconference rooms, computer and training labs, and 32 faculty offices. Our team provided mechanical and electrical design and construction administration for Central Texas College’s $9 million, 55,000 square foot Planetarium and Technology Center in Killeen. Mechanical work included piping from the central energy plant, air handling units, pumps, variable air volume systems, and controls. Electrical design covered transformers, switchgear, service distribution, panelboards, and circuits for lighting, HVAC, and technology equipment. The team supported construction through bid and submittal reviews, meetings, site visits, payment application reviews, and final punch lists.
