Scope:
Laboratory infrastructure included outside air ventilation, manifolded fume hood exhaust, isotope exhaust, cold rooms, campus steam and chilled water, deionized water, and laboratory vacuum. Our team supported the Colorado State University Microbiology Building addition. The $5.8 million, three story program included 15 laboratories, faculty offices, and support spaces. For laboratories, equipment rooms, preparation areas, and research support spaces, the design considered ventilation and temperature control, power and lighting, and the utility connections needed for daily use. Layouts accounted for the different demands of occupied rooms, equipment areas, and support functions.
