Scope:
Morgan Library’s modernization added a learning commons, digital studios, and a 24 hour study environment to Colorado State University’s library program. The $17.4 million project created a learning commons, a 24 hour study area, digital production studios, group study rooms, an expanded café, and classrooms with instructional technology. The project included approximately 300,000 square feet overall, including a 7,000 square foot addition. For reading and study areas, meeting rooms, public computer stations, and staff workspaces, the design considered ventilation and temperature control, power and lighting, and the utility connections needed for daily use. Layouts accounted for the different demands of occupied rooms, equipment areas, and support functions.
