Scope:
VA North Texas renovated the Research Laboratories and the Research Development Building to provide training and residency programs for clinicians, residents, students, and trainees. Hospital services included the emergency department, operating rooms, treatment rooms, clinical spaces, oncology, hematology, gender specific care, cardiology, pathology, pharmacy, and radiology, alongside research facilities including laboratories, testing, learning, teaching, and administrative spaces. Our team performed a complete replacement of major systems, including electrical systems, and designed new power distribution, lighting, HVAC, communications, plumbing, controls, medical gases, and fire protection systems. This work was delivered through a federal IDIQ contract under which our team had completed projects at seven different VA medical centers. The project covered 2,486,649 square feet.
