Trinity Industries Data Center Upgrade
Scope:
Upgrades to Trinity Industries’ data center in Dallas strengthened the reliability of the facility’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology systems. The work was part of the firm’s ongoing services for the corporate campus, which had also included cooling tower replacement, parking additions, and security improvements. Our team designed redundancy into every system supporting the data center, including backup power from a dedicated emergency generator installation, cooling equipment and piping arrangements that allow components to be serviced without interrupting operations, and redundant fire protection and detection. Controls and monitoring systems were upgraded with redundant controllers, communication paths, and power so that a single failure would not disable the facility. Design considerations included electrical loads, equipment clearances, feeder routing, grounding, and integration with existing distribution. Construction planning also addressed service interruptions and access for installation and maintenance.
