Scope:
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Devils River State Natural Area protects what is known as the cleanest surface water in Texas and was recognized as the sixth international Dark Sky Sanctuary in the world. The site has limited daily permit access to protect its delicate ecosystem, and its visitor center provides mandatory educational sessions on preserving the natural environment. The project includes an interpretive center, a visitor center on a high ridge, administrative offices, host sites, scenic amenities, and lightly developed areas for overnight camping, kayak river access, and trails. Our team provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, and security engineering for the facilities in the rugged terrain southwest of Del Rio, Texas.
