Scope:

Four floors of shell space at UT Southwestern’s O’Donnell Biomedical Research Building are being fitted out for laboratories, a vivarium, and neuroscience research. The UT Southwestern O’Donnell Biomedical Research Building project builds out approximately 127,000 square feet of shell space across four floors. The $108.2 million program adds wet laboratories, a vivarium, animal holding and support areas, and offices for neuroscience and brain disease research. The project extends the building’s laboratory and animal resource infrastructure into the new research spaces. For patient care rooms, treatment areas, clinical support spaces, and staff work areas, the design considers ventilation and temperature control, power and lighting, and the utility connections needed for daily use. Layouts account for the different demands of occupied rooms, equipment areas, and support functions.
