Scope:

Restoring Fannin County Courthouse meant integrating new building systems while protecting its historic materials and spaces. Our team supported the $29 million restoration of the 24,000 square foot Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham. The broader restoration included selective demolition, masonry restoration, tower and roof reconstruction, interior restoration, and accessibility improvements. Design documents were required to protect historic materials, features, and spatial relationships. The planning included courtrooms, judicial offices, public waiting areas, and secure support spaces. Mechanical planning addressed quiet HVAC operation and separate zoning for public and secure areas. For electrical systems, we considered courtroom lighting, equipment power, and electrical support for audiovisual use. The plumbing approach accounted for public and staff restroom systems and building water distribution.
